What We Fund
Since 1999, the MetroWest Health Foundation has provided over $30 million to non-profit and government organizations to improve health services within our 25 town service area.
Our grantmaking is both reactive and proactive. Our reactive grantmaking includes two annual requests for proposals (spring and fall) where we solicit grant applications from area organizations. These requests for proposals target specific needs or areas of interest, such as access to health care, disease prevention and health promotion. Our “Grants to Improve the Health of MetroWest” solicitation provides a vehicle for exploring new ideas and initiatives from the community. Visit our Recent & Past Grants page to see the kinds of programs we have funded to date.
Our proactive grantmaking targets community needs identified by the Foundation. Here the Foundation develops more comprehensive strategies for addressing community health needs. To date, the Foundation's proactive grantmaking has targeted such issues as child obesity, racial and ethnic health disparities, and adolescent substance abuse. More information on these areas can be found at our Key Initiatives page.
In addition to the above, the Foundation awards a limited number of Capital Grants on a highly competitive basis to community organizations within our service area. Read our Capital Grant Guidelines for more information.
