Strengthening the Field
While foundations are often viewed solely as organizations that provide grants for programs and services, those that are often the most effective are ones who support capacity building efforts as well as provide technical assistance and linkages to other funders.
The foundation has long viewed itself as more than a checkbook. According to the 2013 Grantee Perception Report, an anonymous online assessment survey, the foundation provided more assistance beyond the grant than the average foundation.
